The village of Bozhentsite was declared an architectural and historical reserve in 1964. For this reason, it has preserved the architecture of the Renaissance, and there is a ban on the construction of buildings that are not in the preserved style of the village. Since the settlers during the Ottoman rule were wealthy and influential people, most of the houses are on two floors (kata). The first is usually used as a shop, and the second was inhabited by the owners. Characteristic of the divine houses are the verandas, the roofs of stone slabs, the corner fireplaces, the wood carvings on the ceilings. The pavement of the streets of Bozheni is everywhere only cobbled.
